ما يُحيِي القَلبَ
What Revives the Heart
ـ لقمانُ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) ـ لابنِهِ وهُو يَعِظُهُ ـ: يا بُنيَّ، جالِسِ العُلَماءَ، وزاحِمْهُم برُكبَتَيكَ ؛ فإنّ اللّهَ عَزَّوجلَّ يُحيي القُلوبَ بِنُورِ الحِكمَةِ كما يُحيي الأرضَ بِوابِلِ السَّماءِ .
– Luqman (AS), giving advice to his son, said, ‘O my son, sit in the company of scholars so much that your knees touch theirs, for Allah Almighty revives the hearts with the light of wisdom like the earth is revived with rain from the sky.
ما يُجلِي القَلبَ
What Polishes the Heart
ـ قالَ رسولُ اللّهِ (صَلَّيَ اللهُ عَلَيهِ وَ آلِهِ): إنّ هذهِ القُلوبَ تَصدَأُ كما يَصدأُ الحَديدُ إذا أصابَهُ الماءُ . قيلَ: وما جَلاؤها ؟ قالَ: كَثرَةُ ذِكرِ المَوتِ، وتِلاوَةِ القرآنِ .
– The Prophet (SAWA) said, ‘Verily these hearts rust like metal rusts when exposed to water.’ He was asked, ‘And what can polish them?’ He said, ‘Remembering death much, and reciting the Qur’an.
قَسوَةُ القَلبِ
Hard-heartedness
رسولُ اللهِِ (صَلَّيَ اللهُ عَلَيهِ وَ آلِهِ): لا تُكثِرُوا الكلامَ بغَيرِ ذِكرِ اللّهِ ؛ فإنَّ كَثرَةَ الكلامِ بغَيرِ ذِكرِ اللّهِ قَسوَةُ القَلبِ، إنّ أبعَدَ الناسِ مِن اللّهِ القَلبُ القاسي.
– The Prophet (SAWA) said, ‘Do not speak excessively without the remembrance of Allah, for excessive speech devoid of the remembrance of Allah hardens the heart. The farthest of people from Allah are the hard-hearted.
ـ رسولُ اللهِ (صَلَّيَ اللهُ عَلَيهِ وَ آلِهِ): ثلاثةٌ يُقسِينَ القَلبَ: استِماعُ اللَّهوِ، وطَلَبُ الصَّيدِ، وإتيانُ بابِ السُّلطانِ.
– The Prophet (SAWA) said, ‘Three things harden the heart: listening to distracting words of amusement (lahw), hunting, and associating with rulers.
ما يُميتُ القَلبَ
What Kills the Heart
- رسولُ اللهِِ (صَلَّيَ اللهُ عَلَيهِ وَ آلِهِ): أربَعٌ يُمِتنَ القلبَ : الذَّنبُ علَى الذَّنبِ، وكَثرَةُ مُناقَشَةِ النِّساءِ يَعني مُحادَثَتَهُنَّ ، ومُماراةُ الأحمَقِ ، تَقولُ ويَقولُ ولا يَرجِعُ إلى خَيرٍ (أبَدا) ، ومُجالَسَةُ المَوتى ، فقيلَ لَهُ : يا رسولَ اللّه ، وما المَوتى ؟ قالَ : كُلُّ غَنِيٍّ مُترَفٍ .
– The Prophet (SAWA) said, ‘Four things kill the heart: sin after sin, excessive discussion with women – meaning conversing with them –, disputing with a foolish person, you speak and he speaks and he will never become better, and sitting in the company of the dead.’ At this, he was asked, ‘O Messenger of Allah, and who are the dead?’ He said, ‘Every rich and affluent person.’
ـ رسولُ اللهِِ (صَلَّيَ اللهُ عَلَيهِ وَ آلِهِ) في مَواعِظِهِ لأبي ذَرٍّ ـ: إيّاكَ وكَثرَةَ الضَّحِكِ ؛ فإنّهُ يُمِيتُ القَلبَ.
– The Prophet (SAWA), in his advice to Abu Dharr said, ‘Beware of laughing a lot, for it kills the heart.

طَهارَةُ القَلبِ
Purity of the Heart
ـ قالَ موسى بن عمرانَ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ): يا رَبِّ، مَن أهلُكَ الذينَ تُظِلُّهُم في ظِلِّ عَرشِكَ يَومَ لا ظِلَّ إلّا ظِلُّكَ؟ قالَ: فَأوحَى اللّهُ إلَيهِ: الطاهِرَةُ قُلوبُهُم.
– Prophet Moses (AS) said, ‘O Lord, who are those whom You will shade under the Shade of Your Throne on the Day when no shade will avail other than Yourr Shade?’ He said, ‘Allah Almighty revealed, ‘Those with pure hearts.
انشِراحُ القَلبِ
Expanding of the Heart
ـ وَردَتِ الرّوايةُ الصَّحيحة أنّه لمّا نَزَلَت هذهِ الآيَةُ: ـ «فَمَنْ يُرِدِ اللّهُ أن يَهدِيَهُ» ـ سُئلَ رسولُ اللّهِ (صَلَّيَ اللهُ عَلَيهِ وَ آلِهِ) عن شَرحِ الصَّدرِ ما هُو ؟ فقالَ: نورٌ يَقذِفُهُ اللّهُ في قَلبِ المؤمنِ فَيَنشَرِحُ لَهُ صَدرُهُ ويَنفَسِحُ .
قالوا: فهَل لذلكَ مِن أمارَةٍ يُعرَفُ بها ؟ قالَ (صَلَّيَ اللهُ عَلَيهِ وَ آلِهِ): نَعَم، الإنابَةُ إلى دارِ الخُلودِ، والتَّجافي عن دارِ الغُرورِ، والاستِعدادُ لِلمَوتِ قَبلَ نُزولِ المَوتِ.
– When this verse was revealed:“Whomever Allah desires to guide…”, the Prophet (SAWA) was asked about the expanding of the breast and what it was. He said, ‘It is a light that Allah casts into the heart of a believer and it expands the heart and broadens it.’ They asked, ‘Is there a sign by which this may be known?’ He (SAWA) said, ‘Yes, to return to the eternal realm, to shun away from the realm of delusion, and to prepare for death before it comes.
حِجابُ القَلبِ
The Veil of the Heart
ـ رسولُ اللهِِ (صَلَّيَ اللهُ عَلَيهِ وَ آلِهِ): إنَّ المؤمنَ إذا أذنَبَ كانَت نُكتَةٌ سَوداءُ في قَلبِهِ، فإن تابَ ونَزَعَ واستَغفَرَ صُقِلَ قَلبُهُ، فإن زاد زَادَت، فذلكَ الرانُ الذي ذَكَرَهُ اللّهُ في كتابِهِ «كَلاَّ بَلْ رانَ على قُلوبِهِم ما كانُوا يَكسِبُونَ».
– The Prophet (SAWA) said, ‘When a believer sins a black dot appears on his heart. If he repents, pulls back and seeks forgiveness his heart is cleansed from the black dot, but if he increases his sins the dot grows larger, and this is the rust that Allah has mentioned in His Book: “No indeed! Rath
القَلبُ
The Heart
ـ رسولُ اللهِِ (صَلَّيَ اللهُ عَلَيهِ وَ آلِهِ): إنَّ للّهِ تعالى في الأرضِ أوانِيَ، ألا وهِي القُلوبُ، فَأحَبُّها إلَى اللّهِ، أرَقُّها وأصفاها وأصلَبُها ؛ أرقُّها للإخوانِ، وأصفاها مِن الذُّنوبِ، وأصلَبُها في ذاتِ اللّهِ.
– The Prophet (SAWA) said, ‘Allah, most High, has receptacles on the earth, and verily they are the hearts. The most beloved of hearts to Allah are the softest ones, the purest ones, and the firmest ones: those that are the softest to their brothers, those that are the most pure from sins, and those that are the firmest [at containing] the essence of Allah
ـ رسولُ اللهِ (صَلَّيَ اللهُ عَلَيهِ وَ آلِهِ): إنَّ اللّهَ تباركَ وتعالى لا يَنظُرُ إلى صُوَرِكُم ولا إلى أموالِكُم ولكنْ يَنظُرُ إلى قُلوبِكُم وأعمالِكُم.
– The Prophet (SAWA) said, ‘Allah Almighty does not look at your appearances, nor at your possessions, rather he looks at your hearts and actions.
عَينُ القَلبِ
The Eye of the Heart
ـ رسولُ اللهِِ (صَلَّيَ اللهُ عَلَيهِ وَ آلِهِ): لولا أنَّ الشَّياطينَ يَحومُونَ على قُلوبِ بَني آدَمَ لَنَظَرُوا إلَى المَلَكوتِ .
– The Prophet (SAWA) said, ‘If it was not for the devils hovering around the hearts of human beings, they would be able to see the Divine Kingdom (malakut)
سَلامةُ القَلبِ
Soundness of the Heart
ـ عيسى (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ): القُلوبُ ما لم تَخرِقْها الشَّهَواتُ ويُدَنِّسْها الطَّمَعُ ويُقْسِها النَّعيمُ فَسوفَ تَكونُ أوعيَةً للحِكمَةِ.
– Prophet Jesus (AS) said, ‘As long as the hearts are not punctured with desires and polluted with greed and hardened by bounties, they will be vessels of wisdom.
اُذُنُ القَلبِ
The Ear of the Heart
ـ رسولُ اللهِِ (صَلَّيَ اللهُ عَلَيهِ وَ آلِهِ): لولا تَمَزُّعُ قلوبِكُم وتَزَيُّدُكُم في الحَديثِ لَسَمِعتُم ما أسمَعُ.
– The Prophet (SAWA) said, ‘If it were not for the dispersion of your hearts and your excess in speaking, you would hear what I hear.
دقة قلب 
in life..
...some know you..
...some remember you..
...some like you..
....some understand you.....
some care for you.....
but.....
a TRUE FRIEND does all above &
